A mother and her seven-year-old daughter approached me after Friday's Brown Bag Concert. She told me that her daughter began crying during Korngold's Glück das mir verblieb -- as performed by Hope alum Haley Hodges and Hope faculty Linda Strouf -- because she felt that "it was just so beautiful." The mother also told me that this had never happened before to her daughter, and that her daughter doesn't even really sing.
Is this awesome or what? If Brown Bag can do this for one person, young or old, even just once a year, I can confidently proclaim the worth of this series and the worth of our efforts at keeping this alive. See you at our next Brown Bag on December 6!
And never be afraid to bring and eat your lunch. That's why it's called Brown Bag! Look -- this fine gentleman did:
