This afternoon, Jenny, Matthew, Kate, and I had the immense pleasure of attending our Annual Benefit for the Chamber Music Festival of Saugatuck (CMFS). We are breathlessly excited to announce our 26th Season of programs and performers, which you can read about on our website or on this MLive press release. Here are some of the many highlights...
* the electrifying Tesla Quartet is returning to CMFS after wowing our audience last season *
* the Claire Aebersold and Ralph Neiweem piano duo *
* Jennifer Walvoord, violinist, will join me and cellist Alicia Eppinga for a performance of Beethoven's Archduke Trio *
* a closing week featuring no less than eight string players on stage for the grandest of finales *
Tickets have been going very quickly, but you may still obtain them by calling 269-857-1424. These concerts are special and are not your run-of-the-mill classical music concerts: our artists talk about the music from the stage and mingle with you afterwards; intermission includes coffee and cookies; the receptions feature delectable culinary creations and wine. In fact, I don't think of these as "concerts" -- these are fun, community-building events for people of all backgrounds. CMFS is truly a family, and we hope you'll join our family of chamber music-lovers in Saugatuck this summer!
Between playing the piano, catching up with friends and patrons, and herding our two little kids, it was rather impossible for me to take photos! Oh well. However, CMFS Board Member, Jim Motiff, was so kind to have sent me a couple photos that he had taken (below). Have a great week!
